I-LAP OBJECTIVES

The objective of I-LAP shall be to render the following services to the unrecalled people who live in the neglected areas of Islamabad District. The following are the main objectives of I-LAP.

  • To reduce religious intolerance in society
  • To build a network of peace defenders to address the needs of religiously diverse societies with models of peaceful coexistence
  • To eradicate illiteracy through formal and informal means for expansion of basic education through involvement of community to enhance moral, cultural and spiritual values of education.
  • To foster basic values such as respect for others, responsibility, solidarity, harmony, tolerance, awareness about rights and obligations, creativity and integrity among children through civic education and Peace through Education programs.
  • Enhance teaching methodology skills and improve the teacher's content knowledge through teacher's training programs.
  • To promote decentralization in education system and enhancing role for the community and parents in the management of school by strengthening Parent Teacher Associations.
  • Instigate development activities with the equal participation of target communities
    Mobilize vulnerable communities to muster on a plate form of SHG (Self Help Group) to solve common community problems at community level
  • Empower women and provide facility of vocational centres with the participation of youth of low-income areas to enhance their capacities through skill development.
  • Explore new business opportunities for people belonging to low income groups
  • To establish linkages between SHGs and financial institutions to eliminate the financial constraints faced by the targeted communities.
  • To open Orphanage and old homes for sick and neglected senior citizens.
