I-LAP
believes that Young people are the essential part of the institutions
with which seeks creative and effective engagement. I-LAP works with
the children at risk, teachers in the schools, women, labor movements,
social workers in the community, clergies of different faiths, policy
makers, media, lawyers, political leaders, program deliverers in
NGO's, artists in the neighborhoods, and government high ups. We
implement at the grassroots level the details of the declarations.
After the growing hatred, prejudice, discriminatory laws and social
differences and divisions on the basis of religion, the "Interfaith
League Against Poverty" I-LAP was founded in 2005 by an likeminded,
interfaith promoters, and peace defenders of social workers. The
team of I-LAP works to promote interfaith harmony around shared religious
values to strengthen the people's commitment to the National values
of civic participation, freedom of religion, diversity, and civility
in public discourse and to encourage the active involvement of people
of faith in the nation's political life. We are local religious
leaders and activists, some with years of political experience,
some just starting out. We work in our communities, in state capitals,
in Washington, DC and wherever else our voice is needed.
The Interfaith League Against Poverty is a non-profit organization,
works in partnership with International and National Partners. I-LAP
is a nonpartisan, development organization dedicated to promote
the religious tolerance, acceptance, and respect for all religions
in Pakistani society. The I-LAP provides opportunity to dialogues,
training, education, research and other support to a growing grassroots
network of clergy and people of faith who are working to promote
social justice in their communities. I-LAP works with the community
activists who are seeking to bring their faith-based voice of compassion
to their community decision-making, and I-LAP helps them to develop
their skills, knowledge, and resources necessary for success.
By stressing the values of community, civility, and cooperation,
I-LAP find ways to move forward to the conventional mindsets and
arguments to find common grounds in the nation's search for the
common good. Forums, seminars, publications, and community projects,
I-LAP supports active participation of all citizens of Pakistan in
a values based approach to productive civic dialogue and humane
public growth.
Our lives are about action and our spirituality needs to support
our work.
